SAN ANTONIO – What’s the latest on the Spurs’ proposed new arena?
Spurs Sports & Entertainment is kicking off a series of public meetings to share updates and give residents a chance to voice their thoughts and concerns.
Starting today, the organization will host 10 community conversations and open house meetings to gather public input on the proposed downtown arena district and the future home of the San Antonio Spurs.
The family-friendly meetings are open to everyone and are being held in different parts of the city to make it easier for people to participate where they live, work or spend time.
Residents will have the opportunity to learn where the project stands, ask questions and share ideas about the arena and the surrounding public spaces.
The meetings are part of the next phase of the project as planners work to shape a venue that reflects San Antonio and its community.
The first meeting is tonight at the Pope Francis Center on Felisa Street. The open house begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by a presentation at 7 p.m.
A second meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at the Alamo Colleges District offices in the Dr. Leslie Boardroom on North Alamo Street.
Spurs Sports & Entertainment says community feedback will help guide the design of the arena district and the overall fan experience before construction begins. The proposed arena is expected to open for the 2032-33 NBA season.
