McCreath and Mitton Smash Records in Edmonton
Sade McCreath broke Audrey Leduc’s Canadian women’s 100 metre record Sunday at the Edmonton Athletics Invitational. Her time of 10.86 in the semi-final trumped Leduc’s time of 10.94 seconds, set last year.

The two runners met in the final, where Leduc ran 10.90 to edge McCreath’s 10.95 seconds for the win.
Sarah Mitton beat her own facility record in the women’s shot put event. Her best throw of 20.20 metres is the new standard at Foote Field in Edmonton. Hear from Sarah Mitton here.
Christopher Morales Williams was pushed hard in the men’s 400 metres. In the end, he managed to edge American Justin Robinson by one one-hundredth of a second, crossing the line in 44.44. Hear from Christopher Morales Williams here.
Marco Arop put on a good show for his hometown fans, winning the men’s 800 metres in a speedy time of 1:42.13 – good for the fastest 800 metre time ever run on North American soil. Hear from Marco Arop here.

NextGen Athletes Head Home After World Class Trip
Athletics Canada’s NextGen athletes completed their European tour this weekend with events in Germany, Belgium, Portugal and Great Britain.
James Kerr finished 3rd in the men’s 400 metre hurdles at the Puma Fast Arms Fast Legs meet in Wetzlar, Germany on Friday, grabbing bronze with his time of 51.49 seconds. Marissa Papaconstantinou set two season’s best times at the meet: 13.06 seconds in the 100 metres and 27.29 seconds in the 200 metres. Amanda Rummery set a 100 metres season best of her own – 12.93 seconds.
Johanthan Podbielski set a personal best in the 1500 metres, when he finished with a time of 3:36.14 to finish 6th at the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze event in Kortrijk, Belgum on Saturday.
Jesse Zesseu recorded a new personal best long jump of 5.87 metres at a meet in Stuttgart, Germany on Saturday. Katie Pegg (shot put – 12.73 metres) and Renee Foessel (discus – 36.68 metres) set season’s best marks at the event.

Rogers Back on a Roll in Ireland
Camryn Rogers is back in the winner’s circle after a big win at the Morton Games in Dublin, part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze circuit.
The reigning Olympic and World women’s hammer throw champion had a best throw of 75.97 metres, good for the win.
Fellow Canadian Simone Plourde was 9th in the women’s 1500 metres, clocking a time of 4:10.23 in Dublin.

Canada’s community of track & field athletes aged 35 and up lands in Laval, July 31 to August 2 for the 2026 Canadian Masters Track & Field Championships.
