Winnipeg spray pads extend hours during heat

Winnipeg families looking for a free way to cool down during the hot weather now have more time to visit local spray pads.

The City of Winnipeg says most spray pads are opening one hour earlier and closing one hour later than usual while temperatures remain elevated.

The free facilities will operate daily from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

There are two exceptions: Boyd Park and the Magnus Eliason Recreation Centre will continue operating from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The City is reminding residents that spray pads are available as a free option to help stay cool during periods of hot weather.

Families are encouraged to check local conditions and take precautions while spending time outdoors.
