In a new Asics ad, the tennis icon mimes Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” on the violin

In 2024, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic made a celebration gesture after his win at Wimbledon, playing the “tennis racket violin” in tribute to his six-year-old daughter, Tara, who had started to learn the instrument.

Last year, while on vacation, Djokovic also played on Sarah McElravy’s 1785 Lorenzo Storioni viola in a small duet with violinist Julian Rachlin.

Now, in a new advertisement for the Japanese sportswear and sneaker brand Asics, the 38-year-old wields a real violin, miming the first movement of “Winter” from Vivaldi’s iconic The Four Seasons over a recording.

“Control the rhythm. Unlock the feeling,” Asics posted on Instagram. “From his first step to his final shot, Novak plays with a rhythm only he can hear, and somehow, we feel every beat of it.”

The short ad is promoting the New York Collection of Djokovic’s own Asics Court FF™ 3 Novak shoe, ahead of the US Open Tennis Championships to begin this week.

Djokovic recently reached the semifinals at the French Open and is continuing his quest for a record 25th Grand Slam title.
