They’re taking over a former Burgoo.
For those who’ve travelled up Vancouver Island, the French Creek Pub might be a regular stop outside of Parksville.
Now the small town pub is setting up in downtown Vancouver. The Burrard Hotel will be the home to the new pub moving into the former Burgoo location.
“We are beyond excited to announce that French Creek Pub will be opening a second location in Downtown Vancouver,” reads a post from the pub.
The goal will be to bring the waterside pub atmosphere from the island to the big city.
“What started as a local pub by the harbour on Vancouver Island has grown into something truly special,” reads the post.
They also thank The Burrard for partnering with them. For the hotel’s part, management says they’re excited as well.
“You might know them from their OG location in Parksville, where they’re known for their fish and chips, bass birthday hat, and all-round good times,” reads a post from the hotel’s Instagram. “This is their second location and we’re excited to have them right here at The Burrard.”
According to the French Creek Pub, plans are to open the spot at 101-1100 Burrard St. this summer, but an exact date has not been announced yet.
The current pub offers a general neighbourhood menu with a few fun items like the firework sundae, a party boat (a $120 mixture of shareable items) and a bass hat for birthday celebrations.
