West Vancouver councillors lobby to ban election signs on public property

West Vancouver councillors Peter Lambur and Sharon Thompson have proposed a ban on election signs on public property. Supporters say they can put the cost to better use, while opponents feel this will hurt lesser-known candidates.
Council will consider the motion next week. CBC’s On The Coast host Gloria Macarenko spoke with Thompson and Kirk LaPointe, who is running for Mayor of West Vancouver.
