A call about two men refusing to leave a Portage la Prairie business last week has led to weapons-related charges against a man who was already wanted by Winnipeg police.
Portage la Prairie RCMP were called to a business at approximately 4:45 p.m. on July 10 after receiving reports that two individuals were harassing staff and refusing to leave the property.
When officers arrived, they located the two men and arrested them without incident.
Police say one of the suspects, a 26-year-old man, told officers he had a large knife inside a shoulder bag he was carrying. RCMP searched the bag and seized the knife.

During the investigation, officers learned the man was wanted by the Winnipeg Police Service for breaching the conditions of a probation order. RCMP say those conditions included several restrictions related to weapons.
As a result, 26-year-old Luke Courchene has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
The second man arrested at the scene was later released without charge.
