CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Former All-Conference midfielder Naroa Domenech has officially signed a professional contract with CD Tenerife Femenino B, the club announced, becoming the fifth former 49er to join the European club ranks in the last decade after Martha Thomas, Tash Hudson, Charlotte Harris, and Emma Wakeman. Domenech competed for Charlotte during the 2025 campaign for her final collegiate season and was one of the key players in Head Coach Sinead Byrne‘s first term.
Joining the Niners following productive stints at Jacksonville State and Oklahoma Wesleyan, the Castro Urdiales, Spain native played a key role in Charlotte’s 10-win season under Byrne. Domenech appeared in all 18 games for the Green and White, making 15 starts; she scored six goals and added three assists, finishing second on the team with 15 points while leading the way in shots with 56.
A timely performer for Charlotte, Domenech scored a free-kick in the season-opening 2-0 win over UNCW on Aug. 14 and picked up her first assist in the Queen City in a 2-1 win over Radford on Aug. 17. She found another level in American Conference play, scoring in three of Charlotte’s first five matches and earning a nod as an American Weekly Award Honorable Mention on Oct. 6. Down the stretch, Domenech recorded a pair of assists in a 4-0 win over Tulsa and scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win at ECU in the season finale, key victories that earned Charlotte the No. 2 seed in the American Conference Tournament. She would be named to both the Third Team All-Conference and CSC All-Academic teams for her efforts in 2025.
Coming through the youth ranks with another Spanish club, SD Eibar, before her time in the U.S., her signature with the CD Tenerife Women’s B side marks a return home for the Spaniard after she spent time at the semi-professional level with Asheville City Soccer Club here in North Carolina. CD Tenerife Femenino B is set for the club’s second season in the Federacion Canaria de Futbol, having been founded as part of CD Tenerife Femenino’s hierarchy in January 2025.
