These two just played last week and Montreal walked out of it with a 37-30 win, so Calgary gets an immediate crack at revenge on home turf. The Als have won two straight and four of their last five, riding Davis Alexander’s clean pocket presence — he’s yet to throw an interception all season. Calgary counters by leaning on Dedrick Mills, who’s piled up 388 yards on the ground, but that Week 6 shootout exposed a defense that’s given up 176 points already this year.

Players to Watch:

Davis Alexander (Montreal Alouettes, QB) — 129-of-184 for 1,779 yards and zero picks, the most efficient arm in the league right now.
Tyson Philpot (Montreal Alouettes, WR) — Leads the CFL with 719 receiving yards and gives Calgary’s secondary fits down the field.
Dedrick Mills (Calgary Stampeders, RB) — 69 carries for 388 yards, the engine Calgary needs to control the clock and slow Montreal’s offense.

Injury Watch:

Alexander Hollins (Montreal Alouettes, WR) — Hip, Questionable, went on the single-game injury list Friday.
Reggie Begelton (Calgary Stampeders, WR) — Knee, Out, a real dent in Calgary’s receiving corps.
Elijah Hills (Calgary Stampeders, DL) — Back off the injury list and active after clearing his six-game designation, a boost for a Calgary pass rush that needs it.

Pick: Montreal Alouettes 34-31. Montreal’s 3-2 against the spread with five straight overs hit, and there’s no reason to think this number won’t clear again given how both defenses have played.

Toronto Argonauts at Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Both of these teams are stuck in two-game skids and desperate to right the ship before the East gets away from them. Toronto got gashed by Calgary and then couldn’t get anything going against Winnipeg, but Chad Kelly still leads the league in touchdown passes with 14. Hamilton looked completely lost in a 7-38 blowout loss to Saskatchewan last week, and that offense has to find answers fast.

Toronto added some fresh legs this week, bringing punter James Burnip onto the active roster and pulling receiver Tristan Ready and Dymere Miller up from the practice squad — depth moves that matter with Janarion Grant and Nolan Ulm both out. Hamilton, meanwhile, got a nice jolt getting DBs Robert Panabaker and Quavian White back off the injury list.

Players to Watch:

Chad Kelly (Toronto Argonauts, QB) — 1,804 yards and a league-best 14 touchdowns, he’s the reason Toronto is favored on the road.
Larry Rountree (Hamilton Tiger-Cats, RB) — 290 yards on the ground, Hamilton needs him to control the clock and keep Kelly off the field.
Samuel Hicks (Toronto Argonauts, RB) — 267 yards and 2 scores, a change-of-pace option that can wear down a Hamilton front seven.

Injury Watch:

Janarion Grant (Toronto Argonauts, WR) — Knee, Out, landed on the single-game injury list Thursday.
Shemar Bridges (Hamilton Tiger-Cats, WR) — Hip, Out, another weapon Hamilton’s offense can’t afford to be without right now.
Braxton Hill (Hamilton Tiger-Cats, LB) — Ankle, Out, went to the injury list Friday and thins out Hamilton’s linebacker corps.

Pick: Toronto Argonauts 27-20. Toronto’s offense has too many weapons for a Hamilton defense that just got torched for 38 points, and the Cats are banged up on both sides of the ball.
