The Edmonton Elks improved to 5-1 with a gritty two-point win over the BC Lions at Commonwealth Stadium, and it wasn’t pretty on either side. BC actually piled up a 10-point fourth quarter to make it look close on the scoreboard, but the Lions dug themselves too deep a hole in the first three quarters and fall to 1-4. Edmonton didn’t blow anyone away either — Cody Fajardo threw for 282 yards but managed just one touchdown — but the Elks defense turned Brice’s mistakes into the difference. Lions star QB Nathan Rourke exited Friday night’s early with an apparent elbow injury.
