The second week of the Penticton Tennis Club’s annual summertime junior camp has come to an end.
A total of 34 participants, aged six to 14, hit the local courts from July 13 to 17.
Bob Grant, who alongside his wife Kersten started the program seven years ago, said the group last week was one of the best he’s coached.
“The players in my group opted not to go to the beach at lunch time, but rather chose to stay and play matches against each other, despite the heat,” Grant said in an email.
The third and final week of the junior program will run Aug. 3 to 7 at the Penticton Tennis Club. (675 Marina Wy.)
Before that, though, the Grants will be in Summerland for the community’s own junior program from July 20 to 24.
The Grants said this will mark their last year at the Penticton Tennis Club, as they embark on “a new adventure, living and working overseas in Egypt for the next two years.”
