NASCAR fans were left emotional after 11-year-old Brexton Busch claimed his first victory after the passing of his father, two-time Cup Series Champion Kyle Busch. This prompted a wave of support from across the NASCAR garage towards the young driver.
The young Busch competed in the Restrictor Micro division at Port City Raceway on Friday. He started the race down in 14th but managed to cut his way through the field for the top spot. He also won the seventh heat for the Non-Wing Micro class and finished sixth in the feature race for that division.
Post-race, Brexton took to his X account, where he posted a picture and a video of himself celebrating his win. In the video, he is seen doing Kyle Busch’s signature victory bow, a deep theatrical salute to the crowd with the checkered flag that became synonymous with his father.
“For Dad,” he wrote in the caption of his X post.
Kyle Busch passed away suddenly back on May 21, just hours after being hospitalized in a North Carolina hospital for a “severe illness.” In a statement later released by the family, it was revealed to be pneumonia that progressed into sepsis.
As for Brexton’s X post, it caught the attention of several NASCAR fans as they showered their praises and support for him.

Under the post uploaded by Brexton Busch, many fans showered the 11-year-old with their support in the comment section.
One fan encouraged him to keep chasing success and even predicted he’ll outshine the current NASCAR Cup Series drivers. They wrote,
“Keep going lad, Never quit. The rowdy nation needs the prince that was promised. Can’t wait for u to sweep the floor with @CarsonHocevar.”
Former NASCAR Cup Series champion and 2027 Hall of Fame inductee Kevin Harvick reposted the post, writing,
“So happy for @brextonbusch !”
Another fan expressed how Kyle Busch will always remain a big fan of his.
“Congrats Brexton! Your Dad is one of your biggest fans.”
NASCAR Cup Series driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr also commented under the post, congratulating Brexton on his victory. He commented,
“Congrats bud, he’s proud no doubt!!”
The cherry on top of Brexton Busch’s victory was that he won the race in a car that featured his dad’s iconic No. 18.
“In your dad’s car too. You are something special kid, he’s smiling on you every moment,” another fan wrote.
