At 95 years of age, William Shatner is now into metal. He previously mentioned that he is recording a metal album with appearances from Rob Halford and Dave Lombardo. Although the full details have not been released, the record is rpeorted to have at least 35 song.
Now, he is bringing the show to the people. Shatner will be playing a metal set at Riot Fest on September 20. He will be backed by his band the *Uckers. (Ed note- the censored name is on their end, not ours). The group includes guitarist/musical director Marcus Nand (Mike Tramp, Candice Night), bassist Phil Soussan (Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol), guitarist Britt Lightning (Vixen, Cactus), and drummer Fred Aching (Kings of Thrash, Dead Groove).
In a release, Shatner stated: “I’ve always believed that music, like space, is about exploration. Riot Fest is exactly the kind of place where anything can happen. We’re bringing volume, intensity, and a few surprises. With this incredible band behind me, I expect nothing less than lift-off. I can’t wait to share this experience with the fans.”
