A young woman is hospital fighting for her life after being struck by a vehicle in Mississauga, early Sunday morning.
Peel police say the collision happened sometime overnight at the intersection of Queensway and Hurontario Street.
Paramedics tell CP24 the female pedestrian was transported to a Toronto trauma centre with “life-threatening injuries.”
Police say the driver “returned to the scene” but did not confirm if the incident would be investigated as a hit and run.
Road closures are in effect in the area, including near Mississauga General Hospital.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
