Toronto police say a 91-year-old woman is dead following a two-vehicle collision in Scarborough last Monday.
In a news release Sunday, Toronto police said officers were called to the area of Lawrence Avenue E. and Charlottetown Boulevard shortly before 4 p.m. on July 13.
According to Toronto police, the 91-year-old woman was going eastbound on Lawrence Avenue E. in a Toyota Corolla. A 38-year-old woman was driving a Toyota RAV4 northbound on Charlottetown Boulevard when the 91-year-old suffered a medical episode.
Toronto police say the medical episode caused her to run a red light, collide with the Toyota and strike a building.
The 91-year-old woman was transported to hospital, where she succumbed to the life-threatening injuries Saturday.
Last Monday, Toronto paramedics confirmed to CBC Toronto they transported a woman with critical injuries to hospital.
