A new sushi restaurant has already opened up in a space left by a ramen shop just a month ago.
Afuri closed its Vancouver location less than a month ago, serving the final bowls of ramen on June 28 at 2801 Main St. It appears the stove barely cooled before a new restaurant started setting up.
Now, only a couple of weeks later, Sushi Nami has started serving customers. The new sushi restaurant is in a soft open phase, with Afuri branding not quite fully removed yet.
The new sushi restaurant on the corner of Main and East 12th Avenue offers a variety of sushi and sashimi, along with salads and appetizers. Hours have not been posted.
As it’s new, it doesn’t appear Sushi Nami has any active social media as of publication time. While it has the same name as a former North Vancouver sushi restaurant that closed several years ago, it’s unclear if they’re related.
