ANTONELLI WINS IN BELGIUM

Leclerc closes the gap a little on the final lap to finish 1.9s behind.

Verstappen is a further 9.6s up the road in P3.

Hamilton fell back a little in the closing laps and Piastri crossed the line 1.7s after him, so Oscar is in the prime spot to benefit if Lewis is penalised after the race.

Hadjar couldn’t quite get within 5s of Hamilton but he kept Norris at bay for P6.

Bortoleto, likewise, withstood late pressure from Lindblad to claim P8 with the VCARB 1.2 behind.

Final points-paying position goes to Colapinto and he also had to soak up plenty of pressure in the second half of the race – teammate Gasly, with Lawson and Hulkenberg, were on his tail throughout.
