Hurontario Street has long been the spine of Mississauga, dividing east and west as it carries traffic all the way from Lake Ontario to the where this roadway crosses into Brampton on its way ever northward. The asphalt spine is currently being widened and reinforced with steel and concrete so that it can soon carry many more transit passengers via LRT, from Port Credit GO to Cooksville GO and on to Mississauga City Centre and far beyond. The predictability of rail transit should be a boon for locals once it has opened… if only an opening date were predictable too.
