The Dunbar Summer Series continued over the weekend and again, introduced new storylines.
After Seth Sherlock began the season with a win in Fernie and Gabriel Neron answered at Kicking Horse, it was Jack Menzies’ turn to stand on the top step of the podium at Sun Peaks.
Menzies had the fastest elite men’s run of the day. He crossed the line in 4:58.368. Henry Sherry finished second, while Kicking Horse winner Gabriel Neron took the final spot on the podium.
With three races complete, the elite men’s category has now produced three different winners heading into the biggest race of the national season.

Rosser remains untouchable
Rosser made it another perfect weekend and so far this season has won three races from three starts in the DUnbar Summer Series. m
She bested Megan Bedard in Fernie and then Emmy Lan at Kicking Horse. But Rosser faced another challenger at Sun Peaks; this time it was Paz Gallo who finished second, 6.107 seconds behind. Sigourney De Jong claimed third. Isla O’Connor finished fourth and Lan rounded out the top five.
Rosser now carries a perfect record into next weekend’s Canadian Downhill National Championships, also at Sun Peaks.
Vath and Foreman stay in control
The U19 categories also continued to take shape.
Rhys Vath followed his win at Kicking Horse with win at Sun Peaks. Travis Goller improved by one position from Kicking horse to finish second. And Austin Makson went down one spot, but got his third straight podium, this time in third place.
In the U19 women’s race, it was Jenna Foreman who continued to put on a clinic this series.
She got her third consecutive victory, finishing nearly ten seconds ahead of Piper Graaten. Izzy Thorpe-Shaw took the third spot.
All eyes stay on Sun Peaks
Rather than packing up for another road trip, riders will spend the week preparing for the Canadian Downhill National Championships, which begin at Sun Peaks next weekend.
