MISSISSAUGA – Peel Regional Police say they have charged an 18-year-old woman with attempted murder after a teen was stabbed on board a transit bus in Mississauga, Ont.

Police say officers responded to a stabbing in the area of Waitline Avenue and Hurontario Street at around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday.

They say officers found a 17-year-old suffering from a stab wound, and paramedics gave him medical assistance at the scene before he was taken to hospital.

Investigators say the victim and the accused know each other.

Police say the accused woman is in custody pending a bail hearing.

They say she is also charged with assault with a weapon and obstructing a peace officer.
