Night Light Golf returns Aug. 14 with glow-in-the-dark golf, illuminated carts and friendly competition, all in support of Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District
Forget the early tee time.
Night Light Golf is bringing golfers back to the course after dark on Friday, Aug. 14, transforming Silver Creek Golf Course into a glowing playground for one of Sault Ste. Marie’s most unique fundraisers.
Hosted by Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District, the evening combines nine holes of glow-in-the-dark golf with illuminated fairways, decorated golf carts, contests, prizes and plenty of laughter, all while raising funds to support crime prevention and anonymous tip reporting throughout the region.
Players will tee off around 9 p.m., using glowing golf balls on an LED-lit course in a four-person best-ball tournament designed for golfers of every skill level.
Before the first shot is hit, teams can get creative during the cart decorating challenge, enjoy appetizers and take in the lively atmosphere as the sun sets over the course.
“Night Light Golf is more than just a golf tournament,” said Michael Goodship, chair and treasurer of the Night Light Golf Tournament for Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District.
“It’s an opportunity for our community to come together for a unique evening of fun while supporting a cause that makes a real difference. Every participant and sponsor helps Crime Stoppers continue its mission of keeping our communities safe through anonymous tip reporting and crime prevention. We invite everyone to join us for an unforgettable night under the lights,” Goodship added.
Funds raised help Crime Stoppers continue operating its anonymous tip program, public awareness initiatives and crime prevention efforts across Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma District.
Through its phone and online reporting systems, Crime Stoppers allows community members to anonymously share information about criminal activity.
Tipsters remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest or the successful resolution of a case.
The tournament welcomes businesses, families, friends and community members looking for a fun evening on the course while supporting a local cause.
Night Light Golf takes place Friday, Aug. 14 at Silver Creek Golf Course, 104 Belleau Lake Rd. in Garden River.
Registration begins at 7 p.m., food is served at 8 p.m. and tee-off is scheduled for approximately 9 p.m.
Registration is $400 per four-person team and includes pre-golf appetizers, glow gear, cart decorating supplies, nine holes of glow golf with a cart, a late-night snack and entry into contests and prize competitions.
Space is limited to 18 teams.
