The larger space will also offer an expanded selection of desserts and drinks.
The West End will soon say “Hello” to Mello.
The popular Vancouver doughnut shop is building a new location in the new building at 1428 Robson St. And it’ll be more than just a new Mello doughnut shop.
“The new location will allow us to do more than what we’ve done in the past. While donuts will always remain at the heart of Mello, we’ll also have a larger space where customers can enjoy more dine-in options, along with an expanded selection of desserts and drinks,” a spokesperson tells Vancouver Is Awesome.
A menu or what exactly the “dine-in options” will be hasn’t been released yet. Neither has an opening date, as the new location is still under renovation.
“We see this location as an important step in the direction we want Mello to grow,” notes the spokesperson.
New Mello also at Oakridge Park
Mello originally opened in 2019 in Chinatown. A second location followed a couple of years later on Arbutus Street, but that had to close in 2025 due to an incoming development.
“One of our biggest hopes has always been to return to the area near our former Arbutus shop. Unfortunately, finding the right space there wasn’t easy. When the opportunity on Robson Street came up, we felt it was the right fit and decided to move forward,” the spokesperson says.
Earlier this year, they opened another new location at the Time Out Market in Oakridge Centre.
After opening, Mello’s brioche doughnuts quickly gained attention and in 2023 they were named the best doughnuts in Canada by Yelp.
