A person is in life-threatening condition after their paddleboard hit part of a bridge along the Bow River in northwest Calgary Thursday afternoon, an EMS spokesperson told CBC News.
An adult and a child were sharing a paddleboard when the watercraft hit an abutment of the 85th Street N.W. Bridge at about 1:10 p.m. in Calgary, by Bowness Park.
The adult was taken to hospital in critical condition, while the child was able to get out of the river and did not require medical attention.
