INDIANAPOLIS — Richard Childress Racing returns to Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend with one of the strongest records among NASCAR teams at the historic venue.

Since NASCAR’s debut at Indianapolis in 1994, RCR has earned three Brickyard 400 victories, winning with Dale Earnhardt in 1995, Kevin Harvick in 2003 and Paul Menard in 2011. The organization also captured a NASCAR Cup Series win on the track’s road course layout with Tyler Reddick in 2022.

In 78 Cup Series starts at Indianapolis, RCR has recorded 12 top-five finishes, 29 top-10s and three pole positions.

Austin Dillon, driver of the No. 3 Chevrolet, said the prestige of the Brickyard 400 remains unmatched.

“Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a Crown Jewel Race for our sport,” Dillon said. “When you walk across the bricks, it’s special. I’m so glad that we’re racing on the oval. It’s just such a prestigious race. Everyone wants to win it, and everyone knows how hard it is to win there.”

Dillon has made 10 Cup Series starts at Indianapolis, earning a best finish of ninth in 2016. He believes his team arrives with momentum after a strong showing at North Wilkesboro Speedway.

“We’re heading into the race weekend with some momentum and anxious to prove ourselves after having a stretch of less-than-stellar finishes during the early part of this summer,” Dillon said.

Austin Hill will pull double duty this weekend, competing in both the Cup Series and NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Driving the No. 33 Chevrolet in Sunday’s Brickyard 400, Hill will make his first Cup Series start at Indianapolis but enters the weekend with experience on the famed oval in NASCAR’s secondary series.

Hill said Indianapolis’ four corners each present unique challenges.

“Track position will be important, so qualifying will need to be a focus for our FICO Chevrolet team,” Hill said. “If you can’t get off Turns 2 and 4 with a lot of pace, you will get ate up all day.”

Jesse Love also enters the weekend with confidence after posting a career-best ninth-place finish at Indianapolis last season. The RCR driver currently sits second in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series championship standings and believes his team has improved since its last trip to the speedway.

“I thought all day we were pretty close on balance, and we had a car capable of being up front,” Love said of last year’s race. “We’ll make a couple of adjustments from last year to this year’s car setup wise and then go from there. I think we’ll unload pretty close and have a good shot at it.”

Away from the racetrack, Richard Childress Racing and ECR Engines recently participated in a workforce development event at Forsyth Technical Community College, showcasing career opportunities in motorsports engineering, competition operations and fabrication as part of the school’s Race Car Technology program.

The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race from Indianapolis Motor Speedway is scheduled for Saturday at 4 p.m. ET on The CW, while Sunday’s Brickyard 400 is set for 2 p.m. ET on TNT Sports. Both races will also air on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
