A 38-year-old man has been charged after a stabbing that Winnipeg police say was a random assault.
A man in his 20s who uses a wheelchair was in a courtyard on Selkirk Avenue, east of Andrews Street, when he was stabbed at around 2 p.m. Friday, police said in a release Saturday.
Police said the perpetrator was an unknown man who appeared unexpectedly.
The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition, and was later upgraded to stable.
Police said the suspect fled, but was quickly arrested nearby.
