Three buildings that were semi connected were destroyed in a fire in Dartmouth, N.S., on Monday evening.
Crews were called to Gaston Road shortly after 6 p.m.
“All three structures, the fire conditions on the front side of the structure that’s on Gaston Road and the two buildings that are on the backside that were connected by like a breezeway were fully involved,” Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency District Chief Brad Connors told CBC News.
Connors said 10 units were on scene with 35 firefighters.
He said there was a commercial building out front with residential on the second floor and the two structures in the back were also residential. Connors estimated that there were at least five or six residential units.
Connors said no injuries were reported.

“We have done a primary search on most of the structures, but due to some roof collapsing we haven’t gotten to every area of the building,” Connors said.
He said crews responded to the fire quickly.
“Without them getting here as quick as they did and getting those lines on this fire, we definitely could have had some exposures because there’s buildings really near on both sides,” Connors said.
“And for the great work [crews] continue to do, the fire didn’t extend beyond the initial building.”
