This summer, Vancouver’s vibrant 2SLGBTQIA+ communities take centre stage, celebrating a rich history and proud heritage.
This year is no different. There’s plenty of things to do from attending pride parades and festivals to drag shows and DJs.
Kick off the weekend party a little earlier with our Pride is Awesome party on July 30. Expect everything from photo ops with a local drag star to rotating DJs with amazing food and complimentary drinks. Grab the tickets before it’s too late as the event is nearly sold out.
Here are five events that are a must-visit whether you’re a part of the community or a proud ally. This is the time to get your Pride on.
Vancouver Pride Parade
The Pride festival runs this week until Aug. 2, culminating with the 48th Annual Vancouver Pride Parade. This year’s Pride theme is Unapologetically Queer: a bold declaration of visibility, resilience, joy and belonging.
The Pride parade is one of the most iconic and popular events throughout the festival.
The event attracts over 100,000 folks showcasing their support for 2SLGBTQAI+ communities.
With four accessible viewing zones, witness the queer community taking up the streets with colourful floats, lively marching bands and community partner groups transforming Vancouver into a beautiful display of love, music and art.
When: Aug. 2, 1 to 3:30 p.m.
Where: The parade begins at Pacific Boulevard, near BC Place, and ends on Howe Street

Davie Village Pride Festival
Building on the momentum of the festival’s successful return in 2025, This year, the festival will once again transform Davie Village into a vibrant celebration of community, culture and Pride in the heart of Vancouver’s historic queer neighbourhood.
But there’s more. This year’s event expands across Davie Village, Nelson Park and Comox Street with new lounge experiences at Davie Plaza and the English Bay Bathhouse.
Attendees can expect live entertainment, community programming, local businesses, food and beverage experiences, and opportunities to celebrate the vibrant spirit of Vancouver’s 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. The festival will feature four entertainment stages alongside four licensed lounges hosted by community and hospitality partners.
“This festival is about celebrating the people, businesses, and organizations that make Davie Village such a special place year-round,” says Teri Smith, executive director of the West End Business Improvement Association.

Vancouver Trans March
Join the march for an evening full of resistance, resilience and celebration. This year’s march is a chance for everyone to come together in joy, in protest, in recognition of the community’s continued existence, power and beauty.
The match starts at 5:30 p.m. at Trout Lake gravel field but organizers encourage people to arrive early at 5 p.m. for sign making. Programming at Victoria Park will start at 6 p.m. This year there are more performances added: people can get earlier access to haircuts, clothing swaps, snacks and more, before the march ends in Grandview Park.

Man Up Pride
With one of the most iconic drag shows in the city, Man Up Pride returns with their 18th annual Pride show at Birdhouse’s pop-up drag and rock n’ roll venue in downtown, bringing queer joy and trans revelry to The Pearl.
There’s a very special live pride music act, with of course dancing all night with the in-house favourite DJs.
Party the night away, and bask in the opulence of their pearlescent, pop-up Pride venue.
When: July 31, 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Queer as Funk
As one of the few predominantly queer bands in Canada, Queer as Funk offers more than just a great night out. At their core, they use music as a tool for visibility, pride and the radical celebration of the queer experience.
They are not a typical dance band. Queer As Funk are part-advocates, part-funk-revivalists, and have been turning stages into dance floors and audiences into family for over a decade.
Bringing fresh takes to beloved classics in funk, soul and Motown, Queer As Funk’s powerful vocals, tight horn arrangements and irresistible rhythm section make each performance as groovy as it is fun. Their sound is creative, their vibe is pure celebration and their love for each other is palpable, adding depth to the onstage dynamic that models the concept of chosen family.
