Emma Hubbs Classic: The 36th Emma Hubbs Tennis Classic kicked off on Monday with the younger players competing. In the 6- to 8-year-old skill performance division, Jalen Harts was first with 119 points, followed by Sanvi Gowda (53 points) and Jack Reuter (48). Also competing were Briella Kemmerer, Jahdiel Harts, Kellan Bradley, Ivy Yater, Harlow Warkins, Ayaansh Balshankar, Avery Kelly, Mae Englund, Jackson Kelly, Isaac Book and Will Gillespie.
In the 3- to 5-year-old skill performance division, Flynn Lightner (25 points), Carter Kelly (22) and John Demmer (20) led the way. Also competing were Beau Buhlig, Rilynn Curia, George Reuter, Chloe Kemmerer, Oliver Book, Blaire Shipman, Owen Dvorak, Blake Bahr and Ava Larcom.
In Tuesday’s 11 girls singles division, Lola Smith led the way with eight games won. Katie Demmer won seven, and Lila Reuter won three.
In the 18 girls doubles division, Joely Ortgiesen and Jenna Mustapha led the way with 16 games won. Maddie Emmole and Margaret Atkinson won 11 games, while Ella Dobie and Jessica Ardis won nine.
