Two Ontario suspects have been charged following a break-in at a metalworking business north of Brampton followed by a run from police during a checkstop.
The OPP says the break-in happened on Feb. 21 at Shelburne Iron and Metal in Melancthon, approximately 70 kilometres north of Brampton. Police say multiple items were stolen.
Then on Feb. 27, investigators say a vehicle believed to be connected to the investigation was spotted by the Dufferin OPP. Police say the vehicle had previously failed to stop for a R.I.D.E. checkstop in Shelburne earlier that same morning.
Officers identified two individuals believed to be responsible for the break and enter, and say Michelle Minialoff, 58, of Shelburne was arrested in March and charged with possession of property obtained by crime.
Jakob Hackson, 39, of Algonquin Highlands, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with break and enter, flight from police, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, and theft under $5,000.
Investigators say footwear and clothing believed to have been used during the break-in were recovered during the investigation, along with a box of stolen parts, stolen copper wire and a stolen chainsaw.
