Man’s death in fall from Mississauga condo building under police watchdog investigation

One person is dead and Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating after a police-involved incident where someone fell off of a Mississauga condo building.

The fatal incident happened at a building on Kingsbridge Garden Circle in the area of Eglinton Avenue and Hurontario Street on Wednesday morning, Ontario’s Special Investigations unit says.

Officers with Peel Regional Police “were present at the time of the man’s death,” and the SIU says it was notified and has invoked its mandate – which is to investigate police incidents in Ontario involving death, serious injury, the discharge of a firearm, or allegations of sexual assault.

The SIU did not disclose details about the victim, and no information about the nature of the incident has been disclosed by Peel police. The police watchdog agency says there will be “more information to follow.”

In November 2025, the SIU launched an investigation into the fatal fall of an 18-year-old man at the Square One Shopping Centre parkade. The SIU found that the man intentionally rolled off the edge of the structure, and there was no “reasonable opportunity” for officers on the scene “to intervene or prevent the outcome.”
