Montreal police are asking for the public’s help locating a sex offender who allegedly violated his supervision conditions with Correctional Service Canada.

Mario Charette, 65, was in Montreal when the alleged violation took place, but police said in a news release issued Wednesday that he could be elsewhere in Quebec or Canada.

Charette is described as a French-speaking white man who is five feet five inches tall and weighs just under 200 pounds.

He has grey hair and blue eyes, wears prescription glasses and may have a grey moustache and beard. He also has scars on his right cheek and near his left eye.

He has several visible tattoos, including the name “Karine” accompanied by a cross and the name “Mario” on his right arm.

He also has a boat anchor and two hearts with a dagger on his right forearm, as well as the name “Linda” and a panther on his left arm. A bird tattoo is visible on his chest.
