One person is dead after a collision involving an e-scooter and motor vehicle near Tommy Thompson Park Wednesday evening, Toronto police say.
The fatal collision happened just before 7:45 p.m. in the area of Leslie Street and Unwin Avenue near the city’s waterfront in the east end, police said in a post on X.
The rider of the e-scooter, identified only as male, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. In an update just after 9 p.m., police said he had died from his injuries.
The driver remained on the scene, police said, and the intersection of Leslie Street and Unwin Avenue has been closed for the investigation.
