Our hearts are broken as we share the news of our unexpected loss of Jay on July 25, 2026, at the age of 50.
Incredibly proud Dad of Brady and Raine. Jay “stepped up” 21 years ago in the lives of Jarrett (Adrienne) and Brenna Mills. Jay and Lisa shared what feels like a lifetime of love, laughter and cherished memories. Although there were many ups and downs, they remained each other’s biggest cheerleaders.
Son of the late Dwyer and Sharon. Son in law of Donna Martin (Jim Wilson), Jim and Sharon Martin. Brother of Luc (Johanna). Brother-in-law of Steve Martin (Janelle). Uncle of Thomas (Regan), Nicholas and Annie Martin and Sylus, Cooper and Hudson Whalen. Jay was cherished and will be missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
Jay passed knowing he was loved and that his family, especially his boys, were so proud.
If you were lucky enough to be his friend, you know how much laughter and entertainment Jay brought. Known by many as Bubba, he probably had a nickname for you too! Whether you shared a coffee, a beer, a smoke, a conversation, poker in the garage, a party in the backyard or guitars around the fire, it was sure to be a good time.
One of the good ones was taken far too soon. His passing leaves an unimaginable emptiness in the hearts of all who loved him. Please carry his memory with you. Be kind and make someone laugh in his honor.
Family and friends are invited to a Come and Go on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 4:00pm-6:00pm at O’Sullivan Funeral Home & Cremation Centre.
Jay’s family is so thankful for the outpouring of support and would be grateful to gather a favorite memory, a funny story or a few words about Jay that you never want forgotten.
A card or a simple note will be a lasting reminder of why he was so special. Cards will also be available at the visitation.
