Just over a month after the elites and juniors fought it out in Quebec for maple leaf jerseys and hardware, now it’s time for some of the next (older) gen to do the same.
Masters riders from across Canada will head to Calgary this weekend for the 2026 Canadian masters road championships, with national titles up for grabs across three days of racing.
The races go from Aug. 1 to 3. As always, the championships will feature the time trial, road race and criterium. The event is being hosted by Bow Cycle & Sports.
The 2026 Canadian masters champs
Racing opens Saturday with the individual time trial at Weedon Pioneer Hall before shifting to the road race on Sunday. The championships wrap up Monday with the criterium in Bowness as part of the Tour de Bowness, where riders will tackle a fast, technical circuit with plenty of spectators to cheer them on.
Several reigning champions are back to defend their leafy kit.
Benoit St-Hilaire returns after winning the Masters A time trial last year, while Dean Brandt (masters C men) and Margie Ritchie (masters D women) will also look to repeat in the race against the clock.
Brian Countryman is back after sweeping the masters D men’s time trial and road race titles in 2025. Bruce Bird (masters C men) and Andrew Conley (masters B men) will defend their road race championships, while Greg Boileau (masters B men), Maurice Worsfold (masters C men) and Daniel Blanche (masters D men) return as defending criterium champions.
