Before moving on to direct his next feature, Imtiaz Ali reportedly completed the screenplay for the much-anticipated romance. Reportedly, Sara Arjun is no longer expected to play the female lead. Instead, the makers have decided to launch a fresh face opposite Rohit Saraf in the film.
Heer Ranjha is set to go on floors in September
The announcement of ‘Heer Ranjha’ was made on Valentine’s Day earlier this year. The classic love story is being backed by producer Ektaa Kapoor and marks another collaboration from the Ali brothers. With filming now scheduled to begin in September, ‘Heer Ranjha’ will mark Rohit Saraf’s next major romantic venture. The actor is currently occupied with the shoot of the fourth season of ‘Mismatched’, where he reunites with Prajakta Koli. Over the years, Rohit has featured in films including ‘Dear Zindagi’, ‘ Ludo’, ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’, and ‘Thug Life’.
