A Mississauga woman and a man from Calgary are the latest suspects to face robbery charges after a man was held up at gunpoint earlier this year at a hotel in the city’s north end.
Peel Regional Police said a Toronto man was charged earlier in connection with the early morning March 7 incident in which a man was robbed at gunpoint by three culprits at around 3:30 a.m. at a hotel in the area of Hurontario Street and Derry Road.
Investigators said the three robbers quickly fled the scene, leaving the victim with minor injuries.
Police didn’t reveal the name of the hotel.
Abdoulkader Abdi, 33, of Toronto, was arrested later in March and charged with robbery in addition to other alleged offences including those related to firearms.
Police also recovered a gun at the time at the hotel and after the initial arrest was made, they set about on the search for two additional suspects in the robbery.
A woman’s name and description and a description of an unknown man were released to the public in March.
Peel police said on Thursday two additional arrests have now been made by 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau officers in connection with the case.
Latef Tag El Din, 30, of Calgary, and Kimberly MacIntyre, 28, of Mississauga, are each charged with robbery, police said.
