A pedestrian was taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 417 near Vanier Parkway.

The collision happened around 2:48 p.m. Another collision happened shortly after in the same area.

That resulted in the closure of all eastbound lanes for more than an hour, leaving traffic at a standstill in the area.

The person appeared to be in serious but stable condition, according to the OPP.
