Prime Video’s high-stakes film trilogy is a must-watch if you’re craving gripping stories about teen angst, forbidden romance, street racing, and family trauma. You’re really missing out if you’re into teen dramas, because Mercedes Ron’s romance saga has been adapted into three feature-length films that have amassed a dedicated following. Cruel Intentions meets Fast & Furious in this guilty pleasure that plays out a bit like a soap opera, and its fan base is growing. All three films in the saga just ranked high in Prime Video’s weekly top ten.
Amazon MGM Studios inked a first-look deal with Ron last June, allowing the latter to oversee all future film adaptations of her work. A New York Times best-selling author, she currently has four book sagas published. Starting her writing career on Wattpad in 2015, her first novel, Culpa Mia (“My Fault”), quickly became a fan-favorite — it was published under Penguin Random House’s Montena seal in 2017. Her second book, Culpa Tuya (“Your Fault”), was released that same year, followed by Culpa Nuestra (“Our Fault”) in 2018. Prime Video has adapted all three novels into full-length features, and all are now streaming.
The “Culpables” Trilogy Is a Steamy Romance Saga

The “Culpables” saga revolves around Noah Moran and Nick Leister (played by Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara, respectively), step siblings whose initial hostility evolves into a forbidden romance. Culpa Mia takes time to develop this relationship, which they kept secret from their stepparents. Strengthened by trauma rooted in their past, Noah and Nick learn to fight for their love, defying all odds. That bond is tested throughout all three films, where they gradually come into their own and claim their agency.
Culpa Mia, Culpa Tuya, and Culpa Nuestra took the top spots on Prime Video’s top ten non-English original films last week. The UK remake of Culpa Tuya also charted on the platform’s overall top 10 original films — Your Fault: London ranked seventh on the list, beating The Wrecking Crew, The Beekeeper, and Playdate. Prime Video launched the UK adaptation of the “Culpables” trilogy starting with My Fault: London last year. Our Fault: London is slated for a 2027 release.
The “Culpables” Saga Blends High-Stakes Action and Teen Drama
What makes the “Culpables” saga stand out from other teen romance dramas is its street racing scenes. Nick is already deep into the extreme sport when Noah meets him — driven by curiosity, she’s pulled into his world, and they eventually end up competing as a team. The illegal street racing scenes underscore Nick and Noah’s romantic tension while also giving the series a shot of adrenaline. Fans consider them the ultimate ride-or-die couple after they survive all the internal and external threats to their relationship.
Prime Video is also streaming the film adaptation of Ron’s 2021 novel Dímelo En Secreto (“Tell Me Softly”), the first of a three-part novel series. Last May, Ron also published the fourth installment in her “Culpables” saga — set years after the events of Culpa Nuestra, Culpa Vuestra (“Their Fault”) sees Nick and Noah face new challenges as parents, even as they struggle against regressing into their past selves.
