A residential building in Montreal’s Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough was struck by gunfire early Friday morning.

Montreal police say they received several 911 calls around 1:30 a.m. reporting shots fired on Basswood Street, near Alexander Street.

When officers arrived, they found bullet holes in the rear door of the building.

Police say the suspects had fled before officers reached the scene. The motive remains unknown.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing with assistance from the SPVM’s K9 unit and forensic identification technicians.
