Songwriters showcased in South Surrey series

The Songwriters series of concerts at Club 240 (Crescent Legion Branch 240, 2643 128 St.) concludes Aug. 9.

Headline artists will be longtime collaborators and friends singer-songwriter Medderick Crotteau and producer-songwriter Steve Gidora (both of Jokers and Prophets), with keys by Wayne Iggulden and background vocals provided by Jan Sentell and Jan Iggulden.

The show runs from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Opening act will be Surrey singer-songwriter CocoLarosa – fresh from July’s Khasahlano and Mission Holk Festivals.

Specializing in “bombastic and lyrically driven story telling,” CocoLarosa recently released ‘Potter and the Clay,’ first single from his FACTOR grant-funded debut CD The Valley of Tongues.

Supported by Canada’s Music Incubator fund, the performer is a two time winner of the Fraser Valley Music Awards, and was nominated for the FVMA Singer/Songwriter of the year in 2025.
