The city of Winnipeg is seeking proposals for the design of a new fire-paramedic station for one of its fastest growing neighbourhoods.
The city issued the request for proposals of the new permanent station in the Waverley West neighbourhood on Friday. It will be designed to meet the needs of the area’s large and growing population, the city said in a news release.
It will also include a modernized station expected to be designed similar to the recently built Station 21 on Regent Avenue, the city said.
The station is also expected to contribute to improved response times amid increased call volumes due to residential and commercial growth in the area, the city said.
The station will replace the temporary one on Eaglewood Drive that has serviced the community since 2024, the city said.
Once the new station is open, the temporary one will be decommissioned and moved to another part of the city yet to be determined.
