The Derby light-middleweight, 28, beat Australia Lekeisha Pergoliti on a unanimous decision to propel herself just one win away from a coveted Commonwealth gold.
Reid looked all at ease in the Glasgow SEC ring as she confidently outboxed Pergoliti to set up a bout with Indian southpaw Arundhati Choudhary for glory.
Many families and children were watching on last night and Reid, a 2025 world bronze medallist, hopes she is blazing a trail.
“Putting on the England jersey is amazing,” she said. “I always wished I was in this position when I was younger, so it’s a massive blessing to wear this vest and I’m so grateful for the opportunity.
“It’s a blessing to compete these competitions and see what the levels are like – hopefully it inspires everyone to step into the sport.
“It’s a tough sport but hopefully it gives young people the confidence to do it.”
Reid is one 251 Team England stars in Glasgow, who are all supported by crucial funding from The National Lottery.
She will now meet awkward Choudhary, 23, in the women’s final this evening, who controversially beat Welsh star Rosie Eccles on a split decision last night.
Reid added: “I feel great and like I’ve got better as this competition has gone on.
“I’m looking forward to boxing against a southpaw tomorrow, which is another different fight.
“It’s all preparation for the end goal, which is getting that gold medal at the end of the Games.”
Thanks to National Lottery players, more than £33m is raised every week for good causes. It’s because of you that sport, arts, heritage and community projects, as well as our athletes competing at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, are supported across the UK.
