Tommy Stevens ran in three touchdowns and the Saskatchewan Roughriders held off a late Edmonton push to escape Commonwealth Stadium with a 28-26 win.

The Roughriders leaned on their two-quarterback attack all night, with Trevor Harris slinging it around the yard and Stevens punching it in from short range three separate times. The Edmonton Elks had the ball moving through the air behind Cody Fajardo, but couldn’t find the end zone enough to close the gap in the fourth quarter. Saskatchewan improves to 5-2 while Edmonton drops to 6-2, keeping both clubs bunched near the top of a crowded West Division.

Quick Hits

Stevens’ ground work was the difference-maker — three short-yardage touchdowns while Harris handled the bulk of the passing load.

Edmonton actually out-gained Saskatchewan 341-333 and didn’t turn the ball over, but couldn’t turn that yardage into enough points.

Fantasy managers rostering Austin Mack got a solid week — 77 yards on just 4 catches — but the lack of a touchdown left him short of a big fantasy day.
