A pedestrian is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Brampton on Saturday night.
Peel Regional Police said the collision happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Bovaird Drive East, just east of Highway 410.
Police say the vehicle remained at the scene following the collision.
The pedestrian was taken to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. An update on their condition is not yet available.
Police have not released additional information about the victim, including their age, whether they were male or female, or their place of residence.
The eastbound lanes of Bovaird Drive East were closed for several hours while investigations took place and motorists were urged to use alternate routes.
The roadway reopened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
In a separate incident later Saturday night, a three-vehicle collision at Queen Street East and Torbram Road left one vehicle overturned. Police reported minor injuries, and the intersection was temporarily closed before reopening.
