The City of Ottawa is inviting residents and skate park users to weigh in on plans to redevelop the city’s skate park at 322 West Jefferson Street.

Commissioner Marla Pearson and the Ottawa Playground and Recreation Board will host a public meeting Thursday, Aug. 13, at 6 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers, 301 West Madison Street, to present a conceptual redevelopment plan and gather community feedback.

RVi Planning and Landscape Architecture, which is assisting the city with the project, will present the proposed improvements and answer questions from residents.

“Public input will help refine the plan as the project moves forward,” according to city information.

The redevelopment plan will support the city’s application for an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development grant through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

Residents unable to attend the meeting can submit comments or suggestions to Tami Koppen at 815-433-0161, ext. 240, or tkoppen@cityofottawa.org.
