A Longueuil housekeeper is facing charges after allegedly stealing jewelry from four South Shore clients — and police say they believe there could be other victims.

Mélanie Tanguay, 48, appeared at the Longueuil courthouse June 30, facing charges of theft over $5,000. Police say most of the thefts targeted older adult clients.

According to police, the suspect stole jewelry from three homes in St-Bruno-de-Montarville and one residence in Ste-Julie in recent months.

“Investigators have reason to believe that the suspect might have committed other thefts in residences in the (Longueuil) area, as well as in certain neighbouring municipalities,” Longueuil police said in a statement Tuesday.

Police are asking potential victims to call 450-463-7211.
