A social media star caused chaos at Mississauga’s Ridgeway Plaza on the weekend.

N3on, a live-streamer and YouTube star, visited the plaza on the weekend during a trip to the Greater Toronto Area.

Also known as Mikyle Rafiq or Rangesh Mutama, N3on was born in Huston, Texas and rose to fame recording himself playing video games and creating content with musicians.

An over seven-hour livestream posted online ends with N3on arriving at Ridgeway Plaza. At first he appears unsure if they are at the plaza.

“Ok so we are in the right spot—this is Ridgeway,” he says.

A fan soon spots him and asks for a photo. She tells him that people are waiting for him on the other side of the plaza.

“Oh my God, they are running,” he says as the video pans to show the crowd approaching.

Another fan comes up and gives him a custom bouquet of flowers. More people arrive, and then N3on’s security tells him they are getting kicked out of the plaza.

“Can I talk to someone?” N3on asks. “I just want to support the businesses.”

His security guard then says that they are getting boxed in.

“We’ve got to get out of here,” the guard says.

Then someone says the police will detain him, and he gets back into his car. The video shows crowds surrounding the vehicle and people screaming, asking for photos and telling him they love him. N3on then uses a ableist slur, swears and says it is stupid.

A Peel Regional Police spokesperson said officers responded to reports of a large crowd gathering in the area of Eglington Avenue and Ridgeway Drive before 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 3.

Police said “the appearance of ‘a streamer’” attracted a “significant crowd.”

Officers assisted with access control to help manage the gathering, police said.

There were no reported injuries, and the streamer departed without further incident, police added.

Ridgeway Plaza is known for large gatherings and its wide variety of restaurants.
