Photo radar units will be active in 16 Calgary communities throughout August.
In the city’s south, enforcement will focus on Shawnessy, while most photo radar units will be deployed in northern and central communities.
The Calgary Police Service say photo radar vehicles will also be present in construction zones where workers are on site.

Police remind drivers that speeding fines increase based on how far over the speed limit a vehicle is travelling. Drivers caught travelling more than 50 km/h over the speed limit are required to appear in court.
There are also 57 Intersection Safety Camera sites throughout Calgary that can capture red-light violations. Five of those locations can also enforce speed-on-green infractions.
Police say the cameras continue to reduce collisions and help improve safety at intersections.
