Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is determined to free girlfriend Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) from prison in Coronation Street.

For months, she hid the fact that she’d whacked Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) over the head with some scaffolding, which resulted in him falling to his death on the night of Carla and Lisa Connor-Swain’s (Alison King and Vicky Myers) wedding.

Ex-boyfriend Gary Windass (Mikey North) helped to cover her tracks, leading to his wife Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) believing that they were having an affair.

The reality has unravelled over recent weeks, with Sarah finally arrested and then charged with murder.

Gary is guilt-ridden, knowing that he disposed of the weapon, and that Sarah doesn’t want him to face any charges for her mistake. Kit, meanwhile, has made it his mission to try and find evidence which could lessen her sentence.

Kit sat her down and they began furiously scouring through the device, and suddenly came across some damning information.

The day after Theo’s death, Gary visited some wasteland near a canal. Kit came to the conclusion that this was probably where he disposed of the murder weapon, and told Bethany that they’d finally found something that could help Sarah.
