Former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar announced his in-ring retirement earlier this week on The Pat McAfee Show. However, is that really it for The Beast Incarnate? A new report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select has more details on Lesnar’s WWE future.
Despite Lesnar’s announcement, WrestleVotes reports that there are “high-ranking officials” in WWE who still believe that Lesnar will be involved in WrestleMania 43 in some capacity next year. WrestleMania 43 will be the first overseas edition of the premium live event, as it will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Additionally, WrestleVotes Radio reports that one source said that if another match isn’t in the cards for Lesnar, the former WWE and UFC Heavyweight Champion potentially headlining next year’s WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2027 in Saudi Arabia is one idea that could be on the table. The same source also said that they “can’t envision Lesnar walking away before one final payday in Saudi Arabia.”
You’ll recall, this isn’t the first time that Lesnar “retired” from wrestling. Lesnar left his gloves in the ring after losing to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42. His profile was also moved to the alumni section. Lesnar later said he was done and “retired” after losing to Femi, but his defeat didn’t sit well with him.
Even WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque appeared to express skepticism about Lesnar retiring during the SummerSlam post-show press conference. He said about Lesnar, “You know as well as I do, Brock does what Brock wants. So I would take what he said at face value, and let’s see.”
